Dhaxalreeb is a biannual, peer-reviewed academic journal coordinated by the Somaliland Centre for African Studies (SCAS) at the Redsea Cultural Foundation (RCF). The journal aims to serve as a dynamic platform for the dissemination of scholarly research related to Africa, with a particular focus on the Horn of Africa. Its mission is to foster an accessible yet rigorous academic environment that promotes high-quality knowledge production and sharing among scholars and practitioners.
With more than two decades of advocacy and practical knowledge production, dissemination, and preservation in the Global South, the Redsea Cultural Foundation in Hargeysa, Somaliland, has officially established the Somaliland Centre for African Studies (SCAS) in 2023. The Centre is the academic wing of the foundation dedicated to asserting the space of African indigenous knowledge in the global educational discourse with the active role and recognition of African Scholars.
Its mission is to be a centre of excellence in African indigenous knowledge and methodology development whereby global scholars especially scholars of the Global South are networked for collaborative knowledge production, archiving, and sharing. Its vision is to become a leading and reputable African knowledge production, dissemination, preservation, and archival centre by 2030.
By acting as a channel for innovative and impactful research, Dhaxalreeb seeks to enhance the existing body of literature while also addressing issues relevant to the African continent. Rooted in a commitment to pan-Africanist ideology, the journal actively engages with a diverse range of African knowledge systems, methodologies, and governance frameworks. This commitment not only enriches academic discourse but also cultivates a profound sense of community and shared purpose among researchers, practitioners, and policymakers dedicated to indigenous knowledge production and narratives of Africa.
